Tomaňa’s artistic education began at the renowned Josef Vydra High School of Applied Art in Bratislava, where she honed her skills in the craft of hand-crafted textile processing under the guidance of Anna Bohatová. This formative period laid the foundation for her fascination with textiles and their potential as a medium for artistic expression.
Continuing her artistic development, Tomaňa embarked on a transformative journey at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. From 2015 to 2022, she immersed herself in the Department of Textile Design, working within the inspiring Studio of Textile Design led by doc. Blanka Cepkova. This academic environment provided fertile ground for Tomaňa to explore her creativity and push the boundaries of textile art.
Driven by a quest for knowledge and cross-cultural exchange, Tomaňa embarked on an enriching experience through the ERASMUS program. In 2017-2018, she ventured to the Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule in Halle an der Saale, Germany, where she studied under the guidance of prof. Ulrich Reimkasten. This international exposure expanded her artistic perspective, allowing her to embrace new techniques and approaches.
Tomaňa’s artistic versatility was further deepened by an internal internship at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. In the Department of Graphics and Other Media, within the Studio of Free and Color Graphics led by doc. Vojtech Kolenčik, she explored the intersection of various artistic disciplines, nurturing her multidimensional approach to creativity.
Residing in Sered, Tomaňa draws inspiration from her surroundings and channels it into her artistic practice. Her works resonate with a unique blend of painting, tapestry, and soft sculpture.
